Ingredients

  • 400g spaghetti
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 400g canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef stock or water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook chopped onion until translucent.
  • Add ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart. Cook until browned and season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef stock or water. Simmer for 30 mins.
  • While the sauce simmers, cook spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain.
  • Serve the Bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
